Diploma in Operation Theater Technology

An Operation Theatre Technologist is a person who looks after all the work and management of the operation theatre which includes managing the patients in & out of operation theatre, looking after all the surgical instruments including their sterilization, arranging operation table, dressing table, instrument table, anesthesia table as well as management of the operation theatre staff. An Operation Theatre Technologist also assists the surgeon during the surgical operations and looks after the drugs required for surgery, anesthetic gases, drapes, linen & their sterilization.

Aim of the course is to teach and train students in Management of Operation Theatre along with handling a variety of operating instruments including electronic and advanced equipment used in modern operation theatres.


Operation Theatre Technology courses are job oriented. In India, different variants of this course are available. Some such well known variants includes – Operation Theatre Technology, Operation Theatre Management, Operation Theatre Techniques and Operation Theatre & Anesthesia Technology. Skilled OT Technicians are recruited by high profile hospitals, clinics as well as Emergency care departments. Government as well as private sector job opportunities are available in front of OTT professionals.

There is NO Age Limit for admission in Diploma in Operation Theater Technology (DOTT).


To be eligible for admission to this course, a candidate shall have:

Successfully cleared Higher Secondary or Senior Secondary or 10+2 (Bio + Math) or equivalent examination recognized by the university for this purpose.


Fees will be decided by government authority or fees regularity committee of government.


The annual intake of students in our College is 25 seats per batch.


The duration of Diploma in Operation Theater Technology (DOTT) course is 2 Years.
